At I&G, each website is crafted to be completely custom! Each client is unique, so each website we create reflects that! However, we do have a few foundational rules we like to follow when we design a site. It’s our recipe for success! & today, I thought I’d bring you into the kitchen:
Here 4 of our favorite ingredients for any effective website design.
1. User Friendly Navigation
A well-designed website will grab your customers’ attention, on the flip side of that, if your site is not user-friendly, they will leave feeling confused. The design should be intuitive, easy to navigate, and fit into your brand’s aesthetic, only reinforcing the subliminal messaging of your business. Your website should also have clear calls-to-action, and well-organized content helping users find what they are looking for quickly and easily!
2. A Mobile Friendly Layout Clear
We are all on our phones constantly, so it’s crucial for a website to be responsive and adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes. Having a mobile-friendly design makes sure that users have a positive experience regardless of the device they use, leading to higher engagement! This is why we love Show-It so much, we are able to fully-customize the Mobile Version of your site to give you a stunning mobile version!
3. Call-to-Action Button
We are big fans of CTA’s here at I&G. If you go to our portfolio, you’ll never unsee them again. After reading Donald Miller, “Building a Story Brand” – he argues that they are a leading factor into driving sales and increasing engagement on a site. And I believe him. A website should have strategically placed call-to-action buttons. CTAs prompt users to take action, such as signing up for a newsletter, making a purchase, or contacting a company. The buttons should be persuasive in their wording and be visually attractive
4. High-Quality Visuals
I hate to be the one to break it to you, but LOOKS MATTER. Having high-quality photos and videos of your business or craft elevates everything about your site, from the strategic design, to copy, to the user experience. Visual content should be relevant, cohesive with the brand’s identity, and help convey the intended message effectively. Attention to detail, such as using proper image formats and optimizing loading times, is also essential to maintain good performance.
Remember, an effective website design is a continuous process of improvement. Regularly checking in on users, gathering feedback, and analyzing website analytics help with insights into areas that need enhancement and optimization. We always recommend updating photos and copy as your company grows and changes!
Here at I&G, we strive to help you grow your business, if you want to explore going through the process of building an effective website that works for you, give us a ring. We are here to help you succeed.
